1. Acceptance of Terms

BFD Tutors is a trading name of EffDee Development Limited (Company Number: 15168024), a company registered in England and Wales (the "Company").

By booking a session and paying an invoice, the Client unconditionally accepts these Terms & Conditions in full.

Provision: BFD Tutors provides online tutoring in Philosophy, Essay Writing and Academic Development. Services are delivered directly; no third-party tutors are used.
Safeguarding: Tutors are Enhanced DBS checked. For students under 18, the Parent/Guardian is the contracting party.
Conduct: We reserve the right to terminate a session immediately for abusive behaviour, with no refund provided.

Single Sessions: Payment is due 24 hours prior to the start time.
Monthly Plans: Payment is due 3 days before the start of the billing cycle.
Arrears: Late payment will result in the immediate suspension of all scheduled sessions.

The 24-Hour Rule: Cancellations or rescheduling requests made with notice of over 24 hours will be accommodated where possible. Cancellations with under 24 hours notice are charged at the full session rate.
Cooling-off: Clients have a statutory 14-day cooling-off period for distance contracts. If sessions are requested and delivered within this window, the Client must pay for services rendered.
Company Cancellation: If the Company cancels, a reschedule or full refund for that session will be issued.

Academic Honesty: BFD Tutors provides educational support and critical thinking guidance. We will not use AI to write essays for students, nor do we permit students to use AI to generate work that is then represented as original thought during our sessions.
IP Protection: All session content, proprietary frameworks, and feedback are the Intellectual Property of the Company and may not be fed into Large Language Models (LLMs) or AI training sets.
Prohibited AI Use: The use of AI-capture bots, including Otter.ai, Fireflies, Grain, or any automated transcription/recording tools by the Client/Student is strictly prohibited without prior written consent.
Tutor AI Use: BFD Tutors may use internal AI tools for the purpose of generating private meeting summaries and action items to improve student support. These summaries are treated as confidential data under our Privacy Policy.

Outcomes: We provide tools for academic development; however, final grades, exam results, and admissions remain the sole responsibility of the student. No specific outcomes are guaranteed.
Liability Cap: Total liability is capped at the fees paid in the 3 months preceding any claim.

Retention: Financial and contract records are retained for 6 years for HMRC compliance. Standard academic/contact data is deleted 12 months after the relationship ends.
